CLS Moodle (VLE) - Your Responsibility


 

Introduction

Community Learning and Skills (Kent Adult Education, Kent Training and Apprenticeships) is committed to safeguarding our learners and staff and to ensuring that everyone is aware of their responsibilities when using the systems and platforms that we provide.

Acceptable use agreement

You are responsible for the text, images and audio that are displayed, transmitted, or recorded, while you are using the CLS Moodle (VLE) system. We monitor the use of technology, to ensure it is not being used for criminal, extremist or terrorist purposes or any other activity which is unacceptable. You are being provided with access to CLS Moodle (VLE) for the sole purpose of learning and for the period that you are in learning with us.

· Your use of the system must be appropriate to your educational needs.

· Using the system, you must not cause any other person to experience discomfort or distress and permission must be sought before uploading photographs or recordings (sound or video) of anyone other than yourself, on to it

· You will only use the system through your authorised account and password (where provided), the details of which you must not be shared with or given to any other person.

· The copyright of the owner and intellectual property rights must be respected when uploading content to the system. Linking to or embedding copyrighted materials, accessing file-sharing websites, introducing computer viruses or malware, storing or transmitting unauthorized, inappropriate or offensive text, images or sound is prohibited.

· You must not use the system for advertising, criminal interests, gambling, personal financial gain, political activity, other non-learning related activity or otherwise unacceptable purposes.

· Unless for the purpose of learning, where prior written consent must have been sought and provided by a responsible officer within Community Learning and Skills, you must not provide links to or refer to extremist, terrorist, obscene or pornographic material within the system

A tutor or member of staff should be immediately contacted if the system access provided has been, or is thought to have been, misused, or has otherwise been made unfit for use. See also our privacy policylearner charter and our vision
